Friends of William Stafford became the caretaker of How the Ink Feels in 1999. Since then, the exhibit has toured around the country, with showings at literary events and in high schools, colleges, art galleries and public libraries. A smaller version of this exhibit, titled Like Frost on a Window, was curated by Dena Brown and sent on tour by Visual Arts Resources. Several new poetry broadsides have been added to the show in recent years.
